Practice Flourishing: The Spirituality of Jesus
The prayer Jesus taught us is a daily practice for deep flourishing. Each of its seven moments subtly responds to one of humanity’s most important questions and invites us to internalize Jesus’s vision. When we pray with Jesus, we practice flourishing in the crucial questions of our lives—God and human purpose, vulnerability and need, failure and ambition, power and hope.
- Who is God? Our Father (Mother, Parent).
- How should we speak of God? Hallowed be your name.
- What is the purpose of life? Your kingdom come on earth.
- How much is enough? Our daily bread.
- How do we begin again? Forgive us as we forgive.
- What about power? Yours is the kingdom, power, and glory.
If the three billion people on earth who claim to follow Jesus —and people who don’t!—started practicing this prayer daily, we would see profound change in our relationships and societies.
