Obsessed with how we make meaning—collectively and individually—and the ways in which we have the power to shape reality even while it in turn shapes us, Serena earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Bucknell University.

As a writer she explores themes of meaning-making, community building, and personal and collective transformation. She is inspired by the belief that witnessing another’s story has the power to shape reality in a way that allows each of us to deepen the humanity we can inhabit and express.
